This is a beautiful book falling, I felt, into the coffee-table genre with
a layout of photographic images that complements the interview.
This book is a collection of Susannah Frankel's interviews with fashion designers that have previously been published
in journals such as The Independent and Dazed & Confused. The interviews are written at pivotal moments in
each designer's career.
I was promised that it would offer me an in depth look of the most well known designers.
They were right. I really enjoyed reading this book. I found the illustrations really interesting and sometimes
surprising as I thought I knew what these designers would look like from the clothes that they design. I was sometimes very
wrong.
Visionaries: Interviews with Fashion Designers gave me a wonderful insight
into designers' creative minds and of the cultural climate at the time.
I highly recommend this book to people who enjoy reading about fashion, who want to be in fashion, or just
want some
inspiration in their own lives.
