Pride And Prejudice Starring Colin Firth and Jennifier Ehle After watching Sense and Sensibility and many other period films, I was pretty excited about watching this mini-series from what I was told from a follow lover of period films. I must admit I’m a bit of a Colin Firth fan from when I watched Bridget Jones’s Diary.

The story is about the animosity between Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth, where Darcy believes her to be beneath him, and Elizabeth is insulted from being turned down for a dance with him. In usual fashion around this unfolds an elaborate story with her sister’s and her own future happiness.

Last Sunday the weather was terrible so I thought of bobbing out and watch the entire series.

I loved this film. The opening scene of Episode 1 set the scene showing Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy and Mr. Charles Bingley racing across the countryside on horseback really gave me the feel of Jane Austin’s world.

The sets were beautiful and the costumes were inspirational. Beautiful fabrics.

I especially loved Jennifer Ehle (Miss Elizabeth Bennet) and Alison Steadman (Mrs. Bennet). Alison’s performance was really entertaining watching her playing a neurotic wife, constantly worrying about her five daughters.

I highly recommend this film to anybody who enjoys a story that leaves you wondering right up to the end. Full marks.
